Prof. Jinping Liu

Hunan Normal University, China

Biography:

Prof. Liu has been engaged in the research of intelligent monitoring, modeling and optimal control of complex industrial processes for a long time, and has developed several sets of related intelligent monitoring and control systems, which have been successfully applied to lead and zinc flotation processes, iron and steel smelting processes and other complex industrial processes, with remarkable economic benefits. He has presided over two projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), one project of Hunan Provincial Natural Science Foundation, one key project of NSFC (Guangdong Provincial Joint Fund) and one upper-level project of NSFC in cooperation with other organizations. He has published more than 40 papers in international SCI journals, more than 20 papers in domestic journals such as Journal of Automation, Science in China: Information Science, Journal of Electronics, etc. He has applied for more than 20 national invention patents, and 8 of them have been authorized.

Assoc. Prof. Mohsin Jamil

Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada

Biography:

Dr Mohsin Jamil is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada. His main interests include control system techniques for different applications, primarily focusing on power electronic converters for smart grids, hybrid renewable energy systems and mechatronic systems. He likes to work in other multidisciplinary areas, such as system identification, biomedical engineering, and communication systems using artificial intelligence-based control techniques. He published 150+ research articles, two books, and three book’s chapters, and presented in many national and international conferences. He served on organizing, program, or scientific committees for renowned international conferences. His research is funded by Mitacs, Memorial University of Newfoundland Seed, Bridge, and Multidisciplinary Fund. 


He serves as Associate Editor of IEEE Access, IEEE Canadian Journal of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Energies. Between 2016 and 2019, he worked in the Department of Electrical Engineering at the Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Between 2012 and 2016, he worked at the Robotics Department of the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. He is the proud recipient of different awards and funding and grants.
